This hearty and plant based(PB) dish is a mainstay and a comfort food.
You can eat it as a side or soup - just add water to get to a lentil soup consistency. The more traditional way to eat it is with a vegetable (e.g. sabji or aloo gobhi) and either steamed rice or Indian breads (naan.roti) - a whole wheat wrap or pita will do just fine. A small cup of plain yogurt on the side makes a delicious meal!
